Residential weeks

Interpersonal relations are an important aspect of an MBA program. The Global Distance MBA's residential weeks will supplement your guided self-study and virtual communications. They will give you a chance to discuss and network with fellow participants and tutors and to work on your research competences. Preparing your master's thesis will be a central issue during these weeks.

Residential weeks are organized four times a year in a variety of exciting locations around the globe. Every week of travel abroad is preceded by one week of online preparation. You must attend a residential week at least twice a year.

These weeks abroad provide ample opportunities to taste the atmosphere of unknown places and the related styles of business and administration. They enable you to upgrade virtual mobility to physical mobility - at least temporarily.

Writing a thesis

The master's thesis offers a unique opportunity to reflect on a relevant management problem within your organization and to analyze it thoroughly. You will gain new insights by comparing theoretical concepts and models, discussing issues with fellow students (both face to face and via the virtual learning environment) and by gathering and analyzing empirical data.

MBA thesis-writing modules

The thesis-writing modules are a series of four courses totaling 10 ECTS points. They are taught during residential weeks, with online preparatory exercises and theory. These modules can be seen as a comprehensive guide to writing a research-based thesis, a requirement for completion of the MBA qualification.
