Curriculum

The Global Distance MBA curriculum consists of eleven stimulating, interdisciplinary courses. The degree program as a whole offers:

  • knowledge of internationalization trends and how they affect companies and administrations
  • tools for directing projects, supervising teams, managing change (financial management, project management, leadership, management of change)
  • analytical skills (data analysis, comparative analysis)
  • improved multicultural communication and negotiation skills

Courses

The first six courses each focus on a specific aspect of the management profession. These courses form the core program and are mandatory for all students. The remaining five courses are electives, giving you a thorough specialization in either Business Administration or Public Administration. Although it is advisable to take the five courses that make up one entire specialization program, students are allowed to mix courses from both specializations.

The core program on general management offers:

  • a thorough understanding of the economic, financial and legal foundations of public and private organizations within an international framework
  • the ability to manage organizations within the conflicting perspectives of globalization versus national and cultural identification
  • the ability to balance stakeholder value, efficacy, diversity and societal responsibility in structuring and changing organizations
  • the ability to implement strategy and policy, balancing control and trust with awareness of impact and risk.

The Business Administration program offers:

  • knowledge of financial management within global capital markets
  • analytical tools to help define markets at a global level and to relate the business policy and strategy to market challenges
  • the ability to organize business processes according to the external and internal supply chains
  • entrepreneurship as a mindset to balance continuity, innovation and market dynamics.

The thesis-writing modules provide a solid foundation for the preparation of your final thesis.
